Safety is vital in airport systems as failures may be fatal. Therefore, DSE undertake preventive actions to ensure a high degree of safety. These planned and systematic actions are commenced in the very beginning of the project. They continue through all project phases throughout the product life cycle. Safety cannot be built in the system at a later stage.

At DSE, the safety issues are highly prioritized. We have included safety considerations in our organization, project plans and procedures according to Eurocontrol recommendations. Furthermore, we have performed safety cases covering FHA, PSSA and SSA workshops, including the allocation of relevant Software Assurance Levels. It is our experience that the best results are achieved when the process is conducted in close cooperation with the customer.

It is important to DSE that our products and services meet the customer's requirements. Therefore, we follow the ESARR and ANS software guidelines recommended by Eurocontrol.

We are of course also focused on cost efficiency. Contrary to perform all available safety actions, knowing that many of these will not bring real safety to the product, we carefully identify and select the critical points, thus ensuring the best value for money without neglecting safety.

Our Air Navigation Systems are developed around our core software System2000^®. The systems' architecture is optimized regarding safety and high modularity, ensuring that failures are isolated and cannot spread through the system.  Our products have demonstrated in practice to be reliable and robust - to our customers' satisfaction.
