ROS has been made for friction testing purposes in close corporation with Copenhagen Airport with an online possibility to report SNOWTAM directly from the vehicle.

 

Friction testing

ROS is an easy-to-use system to perform friction testing. The system consists of a vehicle system with local storage possibilities and a backup PC.

 

Friction measurement data is received from a friction measurement system and the system is easily operated from a vehicle mounted touch screen.

 

The runway report is automatically generated and can be manually edited before sending the data via WLAN to a message server and a SNOWTAM can also be sent directly from the vehicle.

 

ROS is a Windows based application running on standard Windows OS and can use VPN for secure data transfer via WLAN. Alternatively, the data transfer can be done using a VHF communication system.

 

For security reasons, each user is required to login to the system. The login determines which functions the user is allowed to access according to the predefined user levels.

 

Expand the system

The system can be expanded to include a map (MIF format) of the airport and fitted with a GPS receiver giving the user the exact location of the vehicle on the user interface. The GPS option also enables automatic start and stop of the measurements.

 

Friction-curve and SNOWTAM can be printed from the software in standard ICAO format.
